Rowan Fulwood- Cunderdin Farmer

overview

Bin cuts to the chase!
In past years, many farmers have seen the devastation of summer rains downgrading their crops. Getting the grain off the paddock quickly means less chance of a downgrade, and ultimately greater peace of mind going into harvest. Many farmers are stacking the deck in their favour to avoid a potentially devastating downgrade. A chaser bin not only increases header efficiency, but ultimately it could save money and heartache in the long run.

Rowan Fulwood farms north of Cunderdin at the home farm of Elsewhere and has an additional lease farm nearby. The 6,000 acres keeps his Case 2588 busy as he works to get the grain off as quickly as possible. The 25 tonne bin has been a perfect addition to the Fulwood’s program, especially in the last couple of years when summer rains have come early across the state of Western Australia. Rowan can attest, “The bin makes my harvest easier and more efficient, plus I know it’s reliable.” He bought the bin back in 2008, and hasn’t looked back.
The 25 tonne bin is also perfect for grain storage once the header turns off at night. “We use contractors to cart most of our grain, and that 25 tonne already off the paddock from the night before makes it easier to keep up with the trucks,” says Rowan. The 25t bin is optimal for storage, as it is half a road train ready to go first thing in the morning.
With another year shaping up quite nicely in Western Australia, Rowan is looking forward to another harvest with his Grain King chaser bin. You can’t predict the weather, but you can get the grain off faster, making Grain King products a smart investment.
