As you might know the state election is looming and the Wheatbelt is a hot area. The candidates campaigning for the area are No-Till Bill (Crabtree) and Mia Davies, both reputable and passionate about Wheatbelt issues. We have been doing some research and have uncovered some fun facts you may not know about these candidates!
No-Till Bill is a major advocate for no tillage farming practices, as a consultant and active member of WANTFA (the WA no till farmers association), he understands the issues close to farmers hearts. Bill is representing the Liberal Party in the area, and you can see his face plastered across stacks of straws and gumtrees throughout the region.
Now time for the fun facts about No-Till Bill.
o He spent a year in Canada in 1996 learning about no-tillage practices
o He plays the guitar!
o He is currently pursuing a PHD at UWA
Mia Davies currently holds the seat for the Central Wheatbelt as a member of the National Party. She is very passionate about Wheatbelt issues for both farmers and other businesses. She is also a supporter of Royalties for Regions – which in Cunderdin we are very happy with our new town recreation centre.
