When your chaser bin can’t keep up with your header, you’re not just losing time. Your whole operation waits. You’re burning fuel, losing daylight, and leaving grain idle.
For Shane Eising, a grain farmer from Queensland, that was a major problem that needed immediate remedy. His old bin struggled to keep pace, costing him time, money, and a lot of frustration.
This is how GrainKing helped him get back on track.
The Problem: Shane’s Old Bin Could Not Keep Up
His chaser bin had done the hard yards. After many seasons of reliable service, it was showing its age. Because it struggled to keep up with his header, time dragged on through harvest as repairs and maintenance became to constant on the old bin. It was only a matter of time before a breakdown mid-harvest forced a costly stop.
Shane needed a chaser bin that could match his operation’s output and handle the demands of Queensland terrain. His current setup simply wasn’t cutting it anymore, so he reached out to GrainKing.
GrainKing’s Custom Solution, Delivered and Dialled In On-Farm
We started by understanding exactly how he runs his harvest. We learned from our initial conversations that he was going to be purchasing a new tractor with a PTO, so his original order of a full hydraulic drive system on his new chaser bin was no longer the right fit. We configured his new Nyrex chaser bin with a PTO/HYD hybrid drive style to suit his new tractor setup, and for convenience and to ensure perfect fit, we made that change in our Toowoomba yard on the back of the truck before the bin was delivered to farm.
To match his paddock and transport needs, we built the bin with wider axle spacings and custom rim offsets. This gave him the flexibility to switch tyre spacings between 3-metre and 4-metre centres, depending on whether he was working in the paddock or moving between properties.
We delivered the bin to his farm, set it up on-site, and followed up with multiple visits to fine-tune the steering and brakes. That hands-on follow-up ensures every GrainKing bin performs at full capacity from day one. When you invest in a GrainKing bin, you can rest assured that the customer relationship doesn’t stop after delivery.
Shane’s Harvest Operation Runs Faster Than Ever
A season later, Shane’s new chaser bin unloads faster than his operation demands. Where his old bin was an obvious weak point in his operations, it’s now ahead of the pace. Switching between 3-metre and 4-metre tyre spacings now takes minutes, giving him full flexibility for harvest days and road transport.
The suspension on his new bin also proved to be a great addition. Across Queensland terrain, better suspension makes a significant difference over a long season. His trips now give him fewer rattles, a smoother ride, and noticeably less fatigue over long harvest days.
Shane’s running a tighter, faster, more comfortable operation than before. Here’s what he has to say after a season with his new chaser bin:
“Overall around 2 hours a day is saved each day with the new Nyrex Chaser bin. Now the headers never have to stop, the bin takes double the grain load of the old bin and unloads just as fast, if not quicker.”
— Shane Eising

Old bin stats: 16T Hydraulic drive, unload in 5 minutes, both headers had to stop for 5 – 10 minutes each unload to wait for the Chaser bin to get back.
New bin stats: 32T Hyd/PTO drive, unloads in 3-4mins, headers never stop due to the larger capacity and quicker unload speed of the Chaser bin.
Shane’s comment was overall around 2 hours a day (8.5% efficiency in 24 hours) is saved each day with the new Nyrex Chaser bin.
